They told me that anything they had to say would be guesses, since their bosses aren't especially communicative with them. But that they did think that the winner's world should be safe even if someone who lost came from them... unless there were "alternate timelines or other variations".
But I'm going to be checking in with them to follow up later on as well.
My best guess would be if two or more people came from the same world and seemed to be plucked out of different points in time.
As an example... let's say that Kaveh and I didn't have memories that lined up with each other's. Let's say the last thing Kaveh remembered was the Interdarshan Championship, but the last thing I remembered was the Sabzeruz Festival.
Since we would both be here, it would be an undeniable fact that we both died. However, if Kaveh remembered me being alive during the Interdarshan Championship, that would be a contradiction. Our timelines would not be able to coexist, because in order for the me that only remembers up until the Sabzeruz Festival to be here, she would have died before any of that happened. But for Kaveh to remember me being alive and well would mean that our timelines would have separated.
It's only an example, though. I do remember the Interdarshan Championship.
An amount of time that short probably isn't a sign of an alternate timeline.
It would be more like if there were significant events that one person had lived through, and they had memories of the other person being there, but that other person had died before any of it happened.
I'm not sure how likely it is. They were speaking mainly in hypotheticals, but that would be how I would imagine it would work if it was something we were dealing with.
