Peace talks won't work 'cause it means we'll just be consigning those two teams to erasure. Nobody's gonna just take that lying down.

It's just the grim reality. Two teams have three people. You need a minimum of two to keep a team together.

For people who are opportunists, it means easy targets, and if anyone on those teams are aware of that, then they know they'd have to even the odds to save themselves.

That's how this game wants us to feel. It wants to corner us.

but he also wouldn't be this chafed if wolfwood were wrong; it's all uncomfortably true. the words settle heavy like stones in his heart, pushing determination up like it's water. for now, anyway. ]

[ That's a lie, he already takes Haru seriously. Somewhat. He is taking Haru more seriously than their first meeting -- the fact that Haru understands the gravity of the situation and is speaking very seriously regarding it already got some more of his respect. ]
