They did their best with what we had, and that's probably the best I could have asked for. Even if I was definitely a handful. [ a hand comes up to fiddle with the ring on the chain around his neck, a constantly piece of jewelry regardless of whatever he's wearing. ] I was probably closer to her than him, but I wouldn't say I didn't get along with him or anything up until the last, like, year before I died. But even then it was just... knowing it probably wasn't easy and looking back on it now realizing they were good people.
