What's an anime...?
[well, it's probably not important.]
I think my teammates are probably still alive, or they'd be here.

You don't? It seems like the most likely explanation...
Neither do I, but death is like that sometimes. One minute you're cutting down wave after wave of living furniture soldiers summoned by a berserk fairy in a whirlwind of blood, death, and pine scent, and the next minute you're somewhere in between, trying to find a way back, and everything is fuzzy. I don't think we'd be here if something hadn't happened.
That's fair. I tend to be very respectful of authority figures, and death is kind of the ultimately authority figure. But a little skepticism is probably a good thing.
[that's actually a good question.]
I'm not so sure. It's the way I was raised, I guess.

I'm trying to do it less.
[to be fair, she doesn't think it makes her unshitty.]
When you hear something all your life, it's hard to break out of that.

[this rebel boy. he must be a hero or a knight of some kind. there is no way he is this dramatic but it's going to turn out to be about swim team.]
I have to say, that's pretty cool. Going your own way no matter what - I like it! I'm Ylfa, by the way.

[let's say this is actually after their team meeting. ylfa will go with haru to...the park?]
So, you wanted Gerard on your team because he's a good swimmer?
[ignore that i put this in the wrong place]

[he's not!! but ylfa doesn't want to risk getting them kicked out.
she'll sit on the swing next to him.]
Well, that's okay. You're getting plenty of bang for your buck.
[he didn't pay...]
We're teammates now, so I'll keep you and Rin safe.

[they could be kicked out like a couple of furry freaks by these amazingly cool swimming teens.]
Sure are. I'd much rather everybody just do the tasks for points, but we do need to keep an eye out for danger. Or an ear out, as it were.

[oh...he's so nice. she imprints quickly, too.]
Of course. We'll give it our all. No one's stopping Froggystyle.

[...she nods.]
There are a lot of factions, in the Neverafter, trying to change the way things work. But I think my friend might be the only one who can actually pull it off without destroying everything.
I need to get back to help him. All of my friends - I want them to have control over their own stories.

[back at the warehouse a little later, once she's returned from prowling around and not doing anything useful.]
...Hey. Is everything okay?
