The trains here must go somewhere. [ there must technically be plenty to see... if they're unleashed. ]

I wouldn't put it past them to just never let us off at other stops.

I don't know. I wonder if this place was made for us or if it's just... A place, you know? If it's just a place, we might never get to see too far.

...When the people here look like that, I guess... that's possible.

[ the shadowy background npcs definitely don't do anything to disprove the theory. he looks a little unsettled, like 2% less taciturn. ]

It's strange. It looks... so similar to Japan.

Japan? Really?

I thought it looked similar to, like... I dunno, a big city—in America.

[ slowly tilts head like an owl ]

It looks like Tokyo does in photos. [ ...... ] Sort of.

But I've never been to America.

Well, I've never been to Japan, so...

Maybe big cities all just look the same.

[ he starts gently swinging. it's relaxing. ]

If it really was 'made' for us, I guess it could just seem familiar to several people.

[ weird to think about how fake everything is, though. ]

I wonder if we'll get to see parts of it that are less familiar to us, and more familiar to what people from other worlds know. There are a lot of people here who find this whole city weird and totally unfamiliar.

God, I don't even know how to answer that.

[ yes? no? she's good at powering through things, and she's got jonas, so that's something. but she hates this, and still doesn't know how exactly to get out of it. and that's the goal. ]

[ alex is loitering in the park, sitting on the swings. she offers haru a little nod when she spots him... hello do you want to Sulk together. to Brood, perhaps. ]

[ it's teen brooding hours! he's, maybe understandably, very stiff as he approaches, but eventually plops his butt down on the other swing. ]

...Hey. [ he sounds exhausted, like he's run a few dozen laps. ] Is your team okay?

[camena]

... I think so. Maybe a little shaken up... [ none of them are dead. ] Setsu got a little hurt out looking for clues, but - they're fine. I think. Could be worse.

How about yours?

[squirt]

[ someone got hurt? he frowns at that, though there's really so many healers around that it should be okay. ]

...If they need any help—I don't mind. [ it's probably fine, but it's important to offer. ] Everyone's safe.

[ ... ] I don't know. Some of them might've been closer to that guy than me. Hikari.

Thanks. They said it was fine, but - I'll tell them you offered.

Yeah. I hadn't talked to him myself, so... [ so she feels a little weird talking about it. it's still sad. but a lot of it is just scary. and then guilt for feeling more scared than sad. ]

Me neither. [ so he gets it—the shock-fear-guilt spiral. he wishes he could say he's not scared. ] He seemed okay. ...I didn't think it would be like this so soon.

It didn't have to be. So... I didn't want it to be.

[ he's watching the blimps a while after execution is over, expression mildly sour, which probably means he's feeling Very Sour. ]

Wish we could get rid of these.

Yeah, they're uh. A little unsettling now, huh?

It's hard to think that it happened right around here. [ ... ] Did you go today? [ to execution ]

I did. It's better to know what happens.

What about you? [ she was watching the show and dissociating so she's not sure who all else was there. ]

I didn't. [ he feels kind of bad about it now though, knowing she did. ] It was gross to me that anyone would want witnesses for it.

Did someone tell you how it works? That's the only part that you - that really matters.

[ the rest of it is... yeah, it's gross that they made it a spectacle. but also she chose to watch that spectacle, so. what does that mean. ]
