Ah. The shadow people seem to be living a regular life, even with all this going on. Train travel and all.

[ he is not. he hasn't actually gotten in the water yet, but even its proximity is clearly doing something for haru's mood; it's still dark and sad, but less oppressive to deal with. ]

I don't think you can get through with naive beliefs and thinking everything will be okay, but you'll just sink if you assume nothing good's ever gonna happen again.

anyway, shu is outside the mime coffee shop from hell, squinting in the window like he's trying to solve a particularly complicated math problem. or how to get in and get coffee without disturbing the mimes ]

They’re only mimes, but the last time I was in there one “choked” on a Welsh Cake and “died” dramatically in front of me for about five minutes.

[ i want her to be able to have whatever she wants. also i like how at 7am this morning all i could think of that wasn't a croissant was a welsh cake. they're delicious actually, heat 'em up in the toaster and it's like a pancake with raisins hopped up on sugar.
